Qualitative Verschiebungen innerhalb der Kommunikationspalette lassen sich dahin- gehend feststellen, daß die Kontaktaufnahme zu relevanten Zielgruppen innerhalb und außerhalb des Unternehmens sich zunehmend neuer Medien bedient. Der Volkswagen Konzern bediente sich den Rolling-Stones und gab eigens ein Sondermodell heraus, die Kunsthalle Bremen wird von der Becks Brauerei aktiv unterstützt und in die Kommunikationspolitik der Brauerei Becks eingebunden. Dies zeigt, dass zu den neuen Medien auch die Kunst- und Kulturförderung gehört (vgl. Derieth, 1995, S. 13) Kunst- und Kulturförderung gilt als der „weiche“ Kommunikationsfaktor, da die Kommunikationsbotschaft in einer leicht wahrnehmbaren und verständlichen Form überbracht werden kann. Die Beweggründe unternehmerischer Kunstförderung und deren Auswirkung auf das Unternehmen werden in der vorliegenden Arbeit erläutert. Das effektive Matching aller Auswirkungen und deren Steuerung innerhalb der Unternehmenskommunikation auf entweder den internen oder den externen Bereich bedarf jedoch der Transparenz aller Leistungen, Gegenleistungen, Motive, Bedingungen und Charakteristiken der Betriebe und würde den Rahmen dieser Arbeit sprengen.

Unternehmenskommunikation ist eine Sozialtechnik und bezeichnet die Gesamtheit sämtlicher Kommunikationsinstrumente und –maßnahmen im internen und externen Bereich eines Unternehmens, die eingesetzt werden, um das Unternehmen und seine Leistungen bei den relevanten Zielgruppen der Kommunikation darzustellen (vgl. Derieth, 1995, S. 25). Mit Hilfe der Kunstförderung als Kommunikationsmedium und den hierin enthaltenen Kommunikationsinstrumenten lassen sich im Hinblick auf die Einflussfaktoren die Wirkung des Kommunikationskonzeptes des Unternehmens im gesamten und der einzelnen Kommunikationsinstrumente im besonderen unterstützen.
