Jahrhunderts, Note: 1,7, Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster (Philosophisches Seminar), Veranstaltung: Proseminar Descartes: Meditationen über die Grundlagen der Philosophie, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Meine Hausarbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Dritten Meditation aus Meditationen über die Grundlagen der Philosophie, in der RENÉ DESCARTES versucht, die Existenz eines nicht-täuschenden Gottes zu beweisen. Dieser ist notwendig, um die Wahrheit von klaren und deutlichen Wahrnehmungen zu garantieren, denn ein betrügerischer Gott könnte mich in allem täuschen, was sich mir selbst am offensichtlichsten darstellt.
Im ersten Abschnitt meines Textes werde ich das sogenannte Wahrheitskriterium erläutern, aus dem DESCARTES folgert, dass unsere Ideen von den Dingen fraglos existieren müssen, auch wenn die Anwesenheit unserer Umwelt noch unsicher ist.
Daher ist es im zweiten Abschnitt notwendig, die Natur der Ideen und ihrer Ursachen zu untersuchen, um schließlich ein Ergebnis über die Idee Gottes, die wir in uns haben, und ihren Ursprung zu erhalten. Nach Ansicht des Verfassers gibt es Grade an Realität, d.h. manchen Ideen/Dingen kommt eine höhere Wirklichkeit zu als anderen. Er nennt die Wirklichkeit von Ideen objektive Realität, die von Objekten formale Realität. Da sich Ursache und Wirkung in ihrer Wirklichkeit entsprechen müssen, kann nur der Schöpfer die einzige Ursache unserer Idee von ihm sein, da Gott als Ursprung die höchste formale Realität und die Idee von ihm die höchste objektive Realität enthält. Dieser Allmächtige kann kein Betrüger sein, andernfalls würde ihm ein Mangel zukommen. Ausgehend von diesem Ergebnis kann schließlich das Wahrheitskriterium bestätigt werden.
Gegen DESCARTES′ Argumentation ist der Vorwurf gemacht worden, sie sei zirkulär, da man nicht gleichzeitig das Wahrheitskriterium und die Existenz Gottes wissen könne. Das eine setze das andere voraus. Im dritten Abschnitt werde ich deshalb die wichtigsten Interpretationsversuche aus der Sekundärliteratur (ausgehend von GEORGE DICKER) darstellen, die sich bemühen, DESCARTES′ Beweisführung als nicht-zirkulär auszuweisen.
Zuerst werde ich die vindication-not-needed strategy erläutern, die davon ausgeht, dass der Gottesbeweis nicht gebraucht werde, um momentane klare und deutliche Wahrnehmungen, sondern um die Zuverlässigkeit der Erinnerung an vergangene Überlegungen zu gewährleisten [...]
