Weltkrieg, Note: 2,0, Pädagogische Hochschule Freiburg im Breisgau, Veranstaltung: Deutsche und Polen im zwanzigsten Jahrhundert, 13 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Am 7.Oktober 1939, fünf Wochen nach dem Einmarsche der Wehrmacht in das polnische Staatsgebiet, ernannte Hitler den Chef der SS, Heinrich Himmler, „zum Reichskommissar für die Festigung deutschen Volkstum […]“ und beauftragte ihn „ mit der Zurückführung der Reichs- und Volksdeutschen aus dem Ausland und mit der Ausschaltung des schädigen Einflusses volksfremder Bevölkerungsteile“. Dieser Erlass Hitlers legte den Grundstein für die folgende Germanisierungspolitik der Wehrmacht, die bis zum Jahre 1941 die Vertreibung von schätzungsweise 800.000 Polen aus den westpolnischen Gebieten ins neugeschaffene Generalgouvernement nach sich zog. Der Befehl wurde „im Stil eines Überfalls ausgeführt“. Es folgte die Deportation der Eliten, die Verschleppung hunderttausender Zivilisten zur Zwangsarbeit, sowie die Errichtung von Konzentrationslagern. Bis 1944 sind Millionen vertrieben, verschleppt oder ermordet worden „ Die nationalsozialistische Besatzungspolitik war ganz auf Unterwerfung und Vernichtung ausgerichtet“.
Ende 1944 sind geschätzte 5 Millionen Menschen auf der Flucht. Dieses Mal sind es die im eroberten Gebiet neu angesiedelten „Volksdeutschen“. Mit der Großoffensive der Roten Armee im Januar 1945 beginnt überall das große Aufbrechen. Man hat zu lange mit dem Aufbruch gewartet oder konnte nicht früher. Flucht und Vertreibung steuern ihrem Zenit zu. Der Tagesbefehl des vor Königsberg stehenden General Tschernjachowski der 3. Weiß- russischen Front lautete:
„2000 Kilometer sind wir marschiert und haben die Vernichtung aller Errungenschaften gesehen, die wir in 20 Jahren aufgebaut haben. Nun stehen wir vor der Höhle, aus der heraus die faschistischen Angreifer uns Überfallen haben … Gnade gibt es nicht, wie es auch für uns keine Gnade gegeben hat […]“. Ein Bild scheint sich zu spiegeln, Flucht, Vertreibung und Leid sich zu wiederholen. Gibt es keine geltenden Völker- und Menschenrechte? Lassen die Alliierten zu, dass sich die Greultaten der Wehrmacht und SS wiederholen, diesmal unter anderen Vorzeichen? Mit diesen Fragen befasst sich die folgende Arbeit und versucht mögliche Erklärungen dafür zu geben.
