Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2004 im Fachbereich Russistik / Slavistik, Note: 2,0, Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Institut für Slavistik/ Lotman-Institut), Veranstaltung: Modernisierung und Antireform in Russland, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Der Begriff des Jugendstils entstand um die Jahrhundertwende vom 19. zum 20. Jahrhundert. Der Ursprung der deutschen Bezeichnung „Jugendstil“ geht auf die seit 1896 in München erscheinende Zeitschrift „Jugend“ zurück. Die von Georg Hürth gegründete Zeitschrift sollte zeitkritischen, jungen Literaten und Künstlern ein Forum bieten. Das Charakteristikum dieser Zeitschrift war die besondere Art der grafischen Gestaltung. Sie huldigte der sich anbahnen-den neuen, ästhetischen Illustration.
Dem deutschen Begriff „Jugendstil“ entsprach im Österreichischen der „Sezessionsstil“, im Englischen der „Modern Style“ oder „Style Liberty“, im Spanischen der „Modernista“ und im Französischen der „Art Noveau“ oder dem „Style Nouille“. Als „Nudelstyle“ (Style Nouille) wurde der Jugendstil aufgrund der nudelartigen Haargeflechte bekannt, die Portraits von jungen Mädchen und Plakate dieser Zeit zieren. Als Blütezeit des Jugendstils wird die Zeit um das Jahr 1902 angegeben. Die Zeit des Jugendstils endet etwa um das Jahr 1910.
Ein fester Bestandteil des Jugendstils war die Architektur, die in Russland eine besondere Rolle spielte. In der Architektur konnten die Künstler verschiedener Kunstrichtungen ihre Ideen im Sinne des Jugendstilgeistes verwirklichen und somit wahre Baudenkmäler erschaffen. Auf dem Gebiet der Innenarchitektur haben die Künstler eindrucksvolle Möbel und Alltagsgegenstände entworfen. In der Außenarchitektur beschäftigten sie sich mit der Dekoration und der Errichtung von grandiosen Gebäuden.
Der Jugendstil war für die Kunstgeschichte und besonders für die Architektur eine ent-scheidende Entwicklung. Der Jugendstil gilt als Wegbereiter für die Moderne.
