Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2004 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Ältere Deutsche Literatur, Mediävistik, Note: 2,0, Technische Universität Dresden (Institut für Germanistik), Veranstaltung: Erec, 13 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Als ein herausragendes Merkmal mittelalterlicher Literatur wird der ausgeprägte Schematismus gesehen. Darunter versteht man die Beständigkeit von Motiven, Handlungsmustern und Sprachformeln. So unternehmen beispielsweise Artusritter dieselben Ritte in die Wildnis, das Leben von Heiligen verläuft in denselben Mustern in Legenden, Minnesänger klagen ihren Liebesschmerz in derselben Art und Weise und es wird um Bräute nach einem bestimmten Muster geworben. Diese Beständigkeit in mittelalterlichen Texten erscheint dem heutigen Leser entweder fremd oder trivial, weil er ihr höchstens in der sogenannten Trivialliteratur begegnet. Diese kaum erkennbare Variation von Gleichem empfindet man heute eher als Defekt; Langeweile kann beim Lesen auftreten.
Die Gründe für den Schematismus in mittelalterlichen Texten sollen im ersten Teil dieser Hausarbeit dargelegt werden.
Kapitel Zwei beschäftigt sich in Überblicksform mit den Elementen und Handlungszyklen verschiedener Brautwerbungsschemata. Dabei berufe ich mich weitgehend auf Schmid-Cadalbert und sein Standardwerk zur Brautwerbung „Der Ortnit AW“ . Möchte man sich einen Querschnitt durch die Brautwerbungen der Weltliteratur zu Gemüte führen, so empfiehlt sich Geißlers „Brautwerbung in der Weltliteratur“.
Viermal taucht das Thema Brautwerbung in Hartmanns „Erec“ auf. Enite wird insgesamt dreimal umworben, nämlich von Erec im ersten Teil des Romans und von einem namenlosen Grafen sowie vom Grafen Oringles im zweiten Teil. Außerdem erzählt im Schlußabenteuer „Joie de la Curt“ Mabonagrin von seiner Werbung. Alle diese Brautwerbungen werden in Bezug auf die gängigen Schemata untersucht.
