Neben teilnehmender Beobachtung und standardisierter Befragungen sind auch qualitative Interviews eine oft angewandte Methode bei der Forschung mit Kindern. Doch qualitative Interviews mit Kindern gestalten sich in vielen Hinsichten schwieriger als bei Jugendlichen oder Erwachsenen. Vor allem das Alter und die damit verbundene Verbalisierungsfähigkeit sowie die Kompetenz der Kinder, über eigene Erfahrungen und Erlebnisse ausführlich und detailliert erzählen zu können, stellen eine wichtige Einschränkung bei der Anwendung dieser Forschungsmethode dar. Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich sowohl mit den Problemen als auch mit den Lösungsmöglichkeiten bei der Vorbereitung und Durchführung qualitativer Interviews mit Kindern.
