Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Politik - Politische Theorie und Ideengeschichte, Note: 1,7, Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg, Veranstaltung: Staat und Religion, 22 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Selbst nach dem Zusammenbruch der sozialistischen Systeme in Osteuropa und angegliederten Staaten erscheint es interessant das Verhältnis von Sozialismus und Religion zu untersuchen. Dies zeigt die Existenz formal sozialistischer Staaten in der Welt und die Existenz formal sozialistischer Parteien. So wird beispielsweise momentan kontrovers die Einführung des Faches „Werteerziehung“ im von Sozialdemokraten und demokratischen Sozialisten regierten Berlin diskutiert (MÖLLER, 2005). Parallel findet eine ähnliche Diskussion im sozialistisch regierten Spanien statt, wo die Teilnahme am Religionsunterricht den Schülern freigestellt werden soll (KREUZ.NET, 2005). Eine theoretische und politikwissenschaftliche Analyse erscheint deswegen interessant, um zu untersuchen, in wie weit sich das sozialistische Verständnis von Religion auch in der praktischen Politik widerspiegelt.
Einleitend sollen daher das Religionsverständnis von Karl Marx und Wladimir Lenin dargestellt werden und auf theoretische Inkonsistenzen und Unschärfen hin untersucht werden.
Auf Basis möglicher theoretischer Diskrepanzen soll die Praxis sozialistischer Religionspolitik am Beispiel Chinas und Kubas dargestellt werden. Die Wahl dieser Länder erscheint deswegen sinnvoll, da hier große Unterschiede in Bevölkerungsanzahl und kultureller Prägung aber auch Ähnlichkeiten im marxistisch-leninistischen Staatsverständnis und der aktuellen Wirtschaftspolitik vorliegen (langsame Öffnung gegenüber ausländischem Kapital). Somit lässt sich herausfinden, ob andere Variablen, als die marxistisch-leninistische Staatsideologie Einfluss auf die praktische Religionspolitik haben.
Ergebnis dieser Untersuchung soll nicht die Beantwortung der „Gretchen-Frage“ in dem Sinne sein, dass Sozialisten wohl eher ein schlechtes Verhältnis zur Religion haben. Vielmehr soll ermittelt werden, in wie weit Theorie und Praxis sozialistischer Religionspolitik zusammenhängen bzw. sich widersprechen.
