Das von den Akonen ausgesandte "Plasma-Ungeheuer" hätte fast die Menschheit vernichtet, und die "Geisterflotte" stand bereits im Begriff, die Erde in eine Atomhölle zu verwandeln, bevor die Zerstörung des Zeitumformers die Flotte wieder in die Vergangenheit zurückwarf, aus der sie gekommen war.
Atlan ist über die Geschehnisse zutiefst beunruhigt. Er, dessen Position als Imperator von Arkon schwierig genug ist - Attentate und Intrigen machen ihm das Leben schwer - vermutet, man würde im Blauen System auf den Gedanken kommen, das Arkonidenreich und Perry Rhodans Solares Imperium gegeneinander auszuspielen.
