etabliert und ist in vielen Unternehmen kaum noch wegzudenken. Im Zuge dieser
Entwicklung gewinnen auch Projektmanagement-Standards (PM-Standards)
zunehmend an Bedeutung.

Durch die Vielfalt, die unterschiedlichen Methodiken und Komplexität einiger PM-Standards gestaltet es sich für viele Unternehmen schwierig, den für sie geeignetsten
PM-Standard auszuwählen. Eng mit der Auswahl eines PM-Standards ist auch dessen Implementierung verbunden. Nur wenn die Implementierung erfolgreich gelingt, können die Vorzüge, welche die Verwendung eines PM-Standards mit sich bringt, auch zum Tragen kommen.

In dieser Arbeit wird die Fragestellung aufgegriffen, wie die Auswahl und
Implementierung eines PM-Standards erfolgen kann. Anlässe für die Verwendung
eines PM-Standards können beispielsweise die Ausweitung der projektmanagementspezifischen Aktivitäten eines Unternehmens oder eine Verbesserung
der unternehmensübergreifenden Zusammenarbeit mit Lieferanten oder Abnehmern
sein.

Neben einer Vielzahl an unternehmensspezifischen PM-Standards, die nicht
publiziert werden, existieren auch eine Reihe von PM-Standards, die öffentlich
zugänglich sind und in der Regel von Projektmanagement-Vereinigungen herausgegeben werden. Unter den öffentlich zugänglichen PM-Standards haben in der Vergangenheit die drei Standards ICB 3.0, PMBOK Guide und PRINCE2 zunehmend an Bedeutung gewonnen. Die drei Standards werden von unterschiedlichen Vereinigungen herausgeben, stellen jeweils eine eigene Sichtweise auf das Projektmanagement dar und bilden die Grundlage für eigene Zertifizierungssysteme.

Vor diesem Hintergrund wird in dieser Arbeit auf Grund der Relevanz, basierend auf der allgemeinen Verbreitung, öffentlichen Zugänglichkeit und Möglichkeit zur Qualifizierung eine Eingrenzung des Untersuchungsgebietes auf die drei PM-Standards ICB 3.0, PMBOK Guide und PRINCE2 vorgenommen. Dies folgt auch dem Gedanken, dass es für Unternehmen insbesondere durch diese drei Standards möglich wird, Liefer- und Leistungsbeziehungen mit Lieferanten und Abnehmern, hinsichtlich einer gemeinsamen PM-Methodik zu optimieren. Daher werden die Standards im Rahmen dieser Arbeit in ihrer Reinform betrachtet. Die Kompatibilität zwischen den Standards sowie die Kombination einzelner Standards werden dabei nicht betrachtet.
